What bag rows in a Hacoo spreadsheet usually contain
Bags are a smaller part of most Hacoo spreadsheets than clothing, but they are a steady one, and they fall into five types: totes, crossbody bags, shoulder bags, backpacks, and wallets or card holders. Semrush UK data dated 5 October 2026 counts about 110 monthly searches for "hacoo bags", far fewer than for clothing, but those searchers usually have a specific bag in mind and want to know whether it is worth the risk.
The problem with bags is different from clothes. Fit doesn't matter; scale, structure and finish do. A bag can look generous in a styled photo and turn out to hold a phone and not much else. A zip can feel stiff, a strap can attach with a thin ring, and a lining can be paper-thin. A spreadsheet row rarely mentions any of that, so the checks are yours.
One boundary before the details. Some public bag lists exist to point at designs carrying other companies' logos. This site doesn't cover branded copies in any form: we don't list them, rank them or discuss them. Customs in the UK, EU and US can seize trademark-infringing goods. Everything below is about generic bags.
Bag rows fail on size and finish, not fit, so check those first.
The bag type table: dimensions to read and photo traps
Each bag type has a few measurements that decide whether it suits you, and one photo trick that makes it look better than it is. Listings normally give dimensions in centimetres as width × height × depth; some swap the order, so check which number is which.
| Bag type | Measurements to read | Common photo trap |
|---|---|---|
| Tote | Width at the top and base, height, depth (gusset), handle drop | Stuffed with paper so it stands up; empty, it folds flat |
| Crossbody | Width, height, depth, adjustable strap range | Shot close up with no hand or phone for scale; often smaller than expected |
| Shoulder bag | Width, height, strap drop | Worn by a small model, so a short strap looks right on the shoulder |
| Backpack | Height, width, depth, laptop sleeve size, volume in litres if given | Front view only; the depth, which decides capacity, is hidden |
| Wallet / card holder | Closed width and height, number of card slots | Shown open and fanned out; closed, it may not fit a back pocket |
As a rough guide, approximate and dependent on the shape: a bag around 20 cm wide holds a phone, keys and a small wallet; a 13-inch laptop generally needs an inside width of roughly 33–35 cm. Always compare with a bag you already own rather than guessing from the photo.
Write the three dimensions in your sheet and mark them out on a table before you pay.
Reading dimensions against the product photo
Product photos are made to flatter. A bag shot alone on a white background has no scale at all; the same bag in a buyer photo next to a hand or a phone tells you its real size in a second. Use the stated dimensions and buyer photos together.
- Find the dimensions in the listing details or the size image. If there are none, treat the row as a gamble or skip it.
- Mark them out: use a tape measure on a table, or hold up a bag you own and compare. A difference of 3–4 cm in width is very noticeable on a small bag.
- Look for a scale object in buyer photos: a hand, a phone, a water bottle or the bag being worn.
- Check depth separately: a tote 40 cm wide but only 8 cm deep holds far less than its width suggests.
- Note it: put the dimensions in the "Seller size chart (cm)" column of your sheet and "yes" in "Buyer photos checked?" only when you have seen a photo with scale.
Dimensions plus a buyer photo with a hand in it beat any styled product shot.
Hardware, zips, lining and strap drop
Once the size is right, the finish decides whether a bag lasts. Buyer photos and reviews are the only window into it before delivery.
- Zips: look for close-ups of the zip pull and teeth. Reviews that mention "stiff", "stuck" or "broke" after a few uses are a clear warning. A zip that runs only part of the width makes the bag harder to use.
- Hardware: rings, clasps and buckles carry the weight. Thin split rings or plastic clips coated to look like metal are common on cheaper bags; buyer photos in daylight show peeling or uneven colour.
- Strap fixings: check where the strap meets the body. Stitching in a box or cross pattern holds better than a single line of stitches.
- Lining: an interior photo shows whether there is a lining at all, whether it is stitched in neatly and whether there are inner pockets.
- Strap drop: the distance from the top of the pulled-up strap to the top of the bag. Many listings give only total strap length. Measure the drop on a bag you like; over a winter coat, a shoulder bag needs a longer drop.
- Material: faux leather can crack at the folds; canvas can be thin. Reviews mentioning "smell", "peeling" or "flimsy" repeat for a reason.
Zips, rings and strap stitching are where cheap bags fail, so look for those photos first.
Bulky but light: what bags mean for shipping
Bags are usually light for their size. Hacoo's own shipping fee table charges a basic fee by country for orders under 3 kg, £4.99 for the UK, €4.99 for Spain, Italy, France and Germany, A$6.99 for Australia and $7 elsewhere, plus $5 for every extra 0.5 kg above 3 kg. That rule is based on weight, so a big but light tote doesn't cost more to ship from Hacoo than a heavy hoodie of similar weight. As a rough approximation, most fabric and faux leather bags weigh well under a kilogram, so a bag rarely pushes an order beyond the basic fee.
Agents are a different calculation. Their shipping lines are priced by weight, and some also apply a volumetric (size-based) weight to bulky parcels, so a structured backpack in a box can cost more than its weight suggests. Ask the agent to remove boxes and stuffing if their service allows it, and compare totals with our Hacoo vs agent cost calculator. For a mixed order of bags and clothes, the haul planner shows how the 3 kg line works with worked examples.
On Hacoo, weight sets the price; through an agent, size can matter too.
Returns, and when an agent is the better route
Hacoo's refund policy gives 15 days after delivery to request a return or refund, with the item unused and tags attached. If the bag is defective or not what you ordered, Hacoo bears the cost; for a change of mind, the buyer pays return postage. Hacoo's help centre says refund and exchange requests are reviewed in 24–72 hours. Some help pages tell buyers not to send anything back until asked, so start in the app's Refund/Exchange section and follow its instructions exactly.
Photograph the bag on arrival: outside, inside, zips, hardware and any flaw, with the parcel label in one shot. Those photos are your evidence. Our page on Hacoo shipping and returns covers the full process and refund times.
An agent makes sense for a costly bag where finish matters. It buys from the marketplace seller, photographs the bag in its warehouse, and on request shows the lining, zips and strap fixings before you pay for shipping. A return to a seller inside China is far cheaper than posting a parcel back from Europe. Our guide to moving a Hacoo find to an agent explains how to find the same bag on a marketplace without ending up with a lookalike in thinner material.
Cheap tote or wallet: Hacoo. Costly bag where hardware matters: an agent with photos.
A one-minute check before you pay for a bag
Run through these questions for every bag row. If two or more answers are "no" or "don't know", either keep looking or accept that the bag is a gamble and keep the price low.
- Does the listing give width, height and depth in centimetres, and do you know which number is which?
- Have you seen at least one buyer photo with something for scale, such as a hand, a phone or the bag being worn?
- Is there an interior photo showing the lining and any inner pockets?
- Do the zip, rings and strap fixings look solid in a close-up, and do reviews avoid the words "broke" or "peeling"?
- Is the strap drop, or at least the strap length, stated, and will it work over the coat you wear most?
- Is the bag free of other companies' logos? If not, skip it.
- Would a return at your own postage cost still be acceptable if the colour or size is off?
Seven quick questions catch most of the bag rows that end in a return request.
Keeping bag rows in your own sheet
A personal sheet of bags is short but useful, because it keeps the dimensions and finish notes that public lists leave out. Our template has the columns you need, from Category and Link to Seller size chart (cm), Buyer photos checked?, Last checked and Status.
⬇ Download the Hacoo spreadsheet template (CSV)
It opens in Excel, Numbers, and Google Sheets via File → Import. For bags, use the Notes column for strap drop, zip type and lining. If you also shop clothing and trainers, the clothing sheet guide and the women's sheet page use the same columns with garment measurements. If you would rather have someone check a bag before it ships, our WhatsApp service sends photos of the actual bag first and you pay per order.
Dimensions, strap drop and finish notes in one row save you a disappointing parcel.
Hacoo bag questions
How do I know how big a Hacoo bag really is?
Read the dimensions in centimetres, usually given as width × height × depth, and mark them out on a table with a tape measure or compare them with a bag you own. Then find a buyer photo of the bag being worn or held, because a hand or a phone gives scale. A bag around 20 cm wide holds a phone and keys; a laptop needs roughly 35 cm or more.
What is strap drop and why does it matter?
Strap drop is the distance from the top of the strap to the top of the bag when the strap is pulled up. It decides whether a bag sits on the shoulder, under the arm or at the hip. Many listings give only total strap length. Measure the drop on a bag you like and compare; a short drop makes a tote awkward over a winter coat.
Do bags cost more to ship from Hacoo?
Usually not. Hacoo's published fee is a basic fee by country for orders under 3 kg, £4.99 for the UK and €4.99 for Spain, Italy, France and Germany, plus $5 per extra 0.5 kg above 3 kg. Most bags weigh well under a kilogram, so they rarely push an order past the basic fee. Agents are different: some shipping lines also price bulky parcels by volume.
Can I return a Hacoo bag?
You can request a return or refund within 15 days of delivery under Hacoo's refund policy, with the item unused and tags attached. If the bag is defective or not what you ordered, Hacoo covers it; if you simply changed your mind, the buyer pays return postage. Photograph the bag, the zips and the lining on arrival, because those photos support any claim.
Does this site cover designer-style bags?
No. We don't list, rank or link bags that copy other companies' logos or designs, and we don't discuss brand codes. Customs in the UK, EU and US can seize trademark-infringing goods, and the buyer usually loses the money. This guide covers generic totes, crossbody bags, backpacks and wallets, where dimensions, hardware and lining decide whether the purchase works.
Is an agent better than Hacoo for bags?
For a costly bag where hardware and stitching matter, an agent's warehouse photos let you check zips, lining and strap fixings before anything ships, and a return to a seller inside China is cheap. For an inexpensive canvas tote or a wallet, Hacoo's single checkout and 15-day return window are simpler. Compare both totals in our cost calculator using your own prices.
