Who is behind Hacoo
Hacoo is a mobile shopping app that sells clothing, shoes, bags and home goods, mostly shipped from China. It was earlier published as Saramart. On Google Play the developer is DOOP TECH LIMITED in Hong Kong, with a support email ([email protected]) and a UK phone number listed; the app shows 10M+ installs and was last updated on 29 September 2026. On the UK App Store the seller is listed as Hacoo Tech, and the app ranked fifth among free Lifestyle apps when we checked. The two company names don't contradict each other, but we found no public filing that ties them together, so we report both as listed.
Hacoo is a retailer-style marketplace, not a shopping agent. You pay Hacoo once in the app, and Hacoo or its vendors ship to you. That model matters for the legit question: your recourse for a problem is Hacoo's own after-sales process.
A real company with a large, active app; the open question is service, not existence.
Three rating sources, side by side
| Source | Rating | Volume | What it tends to capture |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Play | 4.5 / 5 | 58.4k reviews, 10M+ installs | App experience, first deliveries |
| UK App Store | 4.7 / 5 | 77k ratings | Similar; prompted in-app ratings |
| Trustpilot (hacoo.app) | 3.7 / 5 | 3,370 reviews, 606 in 12 months | Detailed experiences, disputes |
On Trustpilot the distribution is split: 51% five-star and 34% one-star, with little in between. Trustpilot shows Hacoo replying to 99% of negative reviews. Split distributions like this usually mean most orders go fine and a sizeable minority go badly, which matches what the complaints describe. All figures were read on 5 October 2026.
Most orders arrive; about a third of Trustpilot reviewers had a bad time, mostly over refunds.
Where the complaints cluster
- Refunds and exchanges: the largest theme. Reviewers describe slow approvals, partial refunds and refusals.
- Accounts restricted after returns: some reviewers say their account was limited after requesting refunds.
- Missing or damaged items: less common, but present, especially in split shipments.
- Regional availability: items in shared links not being offered in the buyer's country.
Praise centres on prices and product quality for the money, and on deliveries that arrive within a few weeks. Play Store reviewers add a separate gripe about the app being confusing to browse and hard to change regions in. Our Hacoo app guide covers the region and search issues.
If something goes wrong with Hacoo, it is most likely the refund, so plan for that.
Protecting a Hacoo order
- Pay only in the app. Hacoo has no web checkout, so any browser shop using its name is someone else.
- Start small. A first order you can afford to lose limits the damage of a refund dispute.
- Prefer protected payment. A card or PayPal gives you a dispute route if Hacoo's own process stalls.
- Photograph on arrival the sealed parcel, then each item and tag.
- Act within 15 days. Hacoo's return window counts from delivery; faulty or wrong items get free return postage, change-of-mind returns don't. Details in our delivery and returns guide.
Small first order, protected payment, photos on day one.
When a different route is safer
If you want to see your actual item before it ships, Hacoo can't offer that; a shopping agent can. Agents photograph items in their warehouse, and a problem found there can usually be returned to the seller inside China rather than posted back from Europe. The cost is more steps and two payments. Our Hacoo vs agents comparison explains when that trade is worth it, the agent status list shows which agents were open on 5 October 2026, and our WhatsApp service sends item photos before dispatch, with payment per order. For more context on the lists people use to shop Hacoo, start from the Hacoo spreadsheet guide.
Hacoo is legit for low-stakes orders; for costly ones, a route with photos first is safer.
Is Hacoo safe? Common questions
Who owns the Hacoo app?
Hacoo's Google Play listing names the developer as DOOP TECH LIMITED, based in Hong Kong, while the UK App Store lists the seller as Hacoo Tech. The Play listing gives [email protected] as the support address. The app was earlier published under the Saramart name, and its Android package is still com.saramart.android. We found no public filing that links the two company names.
Why is Hacoo rated so differently on Trustpilot and the app stores?
They capture different moments. App-store ratings are often left early, prompted inside the app, when the first parcel arrives. Trustpilot reviews are usually written by people motivated to complain or praise in detail, and refund disputes dominate there. On 5 October 2026 Hacoo had 4.5 on Google Play, 4.7 on the UK App Store and 3.7 on Trustpilot.
Does Hacoo actually deliver?
Mostly, yes. Delivery is not the main theme of negative Trustpilot reviews; refunds, exchanges and account restrictions after return requests are. Hacoo's own estimate is 15–25 days to the UK, France, Germany and Italy after 3–5 business days of processing. Some reviewers do report missing or damaged items, which is why photographing the parcel on arrival matters.
Is it safe to give Hacoo my card details?
Paying inside the official app is the normal route and uses the payment methods the app offers, such as cards, Apple Pay or Klarna depending on country. The risk is outside the app: Telegram sellers, look-alike browser shops or anyone asking for card details to order on your behalf. Hacoo has no web checkout, so any site asking for payment as Hacoo is someone else.
What is the biggest risk with Hacoo?
Getting money back. Hacoo's policy allows returns within 15 days after delivery and pays return postage for faulty or wrong items, but Trustpilot reviewers describe slow or refused refunds and, in some cases, accounts restricted after return requests. Keep first orders small, keep tags on, photograph everything and use a payment method with buyer protection where available.
